If you don't have a dedicated macro lens a cheaper option would be to try a close up lens or extension tubes with your dslr camera. I've always wanted to capture water droplets as I find the uniqueness of the shapes fascinating. Equipment I used: Nikon D5000 Tamron 90mm Macro lens £20 Off camera Flash x 1 - used in manual mode Wireless remote trigger x 3 5in 1 Reflector x 1 Tripod (mini gorillapod like tripod but cheaper and no brand name) Camera settings: aperture f11 shutter speed 1/125 iso 200 As I have never taken shots like this before, my set up for these shots has been pretty basic. I suspended a small plastic bag of water to the underneath of a ladder in my living room, below this I place a glass Pyrex bowl filled halfway with water (approx 2" depth of water). I then make a small hole in the bag of water with a safety pin, which allows droplets to fall at a slow steady rate, into the glass bowl positioned underneath the ladder.
